The NFL Draft took place just more than a month ago. Offseason team activities have barely been under way for two weeks. Training camp won't start for another nine weeks, and the regular season is a full three months away. Takk McKinley, though, has apparently already had enough of his media commitments.
After practice on Friday, the Atlanta Falcons' defensive end took a page out of Marshawn Lynch's playbook, offering the same brief, inconsequential answer to all three questions asked of him by reporters.

McKinley's first response? “I'm good.” His next one? “It's goin' good.” And the last? “Just tryin' to get good, be good.” End scene.

The rising third-year year defender is entrenched as one of Atlanta's defensive building blocks after garnering 22 tackles, seven tackles for loss, seven sacks, and 15 quarterback hits last season, starting half of his team's games. He was nearly as effective in a more confined role as a rookie, finishing with six sacks and 10 quarterback hits as part of the rotation along the Falcons' defensive line.
At 6-foot-2, 265 pounds, Takk McKinley has rare lateral quickness and overall athleticism for a defensive lineman, which is why Atlanta is experimenting with him playing some situational linebacker during OTAs.
“There will be some packages where he can be a linebacker,” coach Dan Quinn said of McKinley, per D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal Constitution. “The value in that (presents the question of) is he a rusher or is he a dropper?”
The Falcons were a disappointing 25th in points allowed last season, finishing with a 7-9 record.
