Baltimore Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta already employs one of the top playmakers in the entire NFL. The reigning league MVP, quarterback Lamar Jackson, remains under center for the AFC North franchise. Not only that, but the Ravens front office executive is now expressing confidence in his team's up-and-coming wide receivers taking it to another level in 2020-21.
“So we think if you look at our team over the last two, three years, we’ve done a lot to address skill positions: targets for Lamar, guys that can make plays,” DeCosta recently said, via the team’s official website. “We feel really, really good about that. We love the mix of personalities and players and the upside and leadership that we’ve got. And I think Lamar’s got a great chemistry with those guys as well. We think our younger guys are going to continue to make a jump.”
With former first round NFL Draft pick and soon-to-be second-year wide out Marquise “Hollywood” Brown leading the way among this group, the Ravens also have the likes of Miles Boykin, Willie Snead, Chris Moore and Jaleel Scott at its disposal. It is also worth noting that the Ravens then added a pair of pass catchers in Devin Duvernay and James Proche this offseason.
Last season, the Ravens won the AFC West en route to becoming the top seed in the AFC come playoff time. However, following the team's bye week to begin postseason play, the Ravens were almost immediately ousted from Super Bowl contention by the red-hot Tennessee Titans in the divisional round.
