The recent lawsuit by former Miami Dolphins head coach and current Pittsburgh Steelers assistant Brian Flores against the NFL has forced the sports world to look at things a bit differently. Flores accused the NFL of racial discrimination during his head coaching interviews, alleging that teams were interviewing him merely to satisfy the Rooney Rule. As a result of the lawsuit, there are many who believe the NFL still has a problem when it comes to how black head coaches are perceived. However, it might not stop at black head coaches. Baltimore Ravens star Lamar Jackson spoke out about the ‘racial bias' facing black NFL QBs in the NFL during an appearance on LeBron James' show The Shop, as reported by ESPN.

When the discussion turned to how there has been a historical bias against Black quarterbacks, James said, “It's dying off, but it's still there.”

Jackson responded, “It's still there. That's why I need that championship.”

Lebron mentioned the historical bias against black NFL QBs, which he mentioned to be as “dying off but still there.” Jackson agreed with James.

Jackson certainly faced his fair share of resistance once he entered the league, with those doubting his ability to play the quarterback position at a high level. There could even be a ‘racial bias', as Jackson alluded to, behind such resistance to his and other black QBs' attempt to make it in the NFL.

However, if there is one, Jackson would certainly stick it to those who hold such a bias by having continued success in the league.
