The Baltimore Ravens have remained active in the later stages of free agency and they brought in another veteran name Tuesday, working out linebacker Vincent Rey, per Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com.

They'd be poaching away a longtime division rival, as Rey has spent the past nine seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals. As Hensley points out, Rey has been a core special teamer with the Bengals. He was always valued by Marvin Lewis, but with Lewis no longer in charge and new coach Zac Taylor at the helm, it doesn't look like Cincy will be bringing him back.

Rey originally entered the league as an undrafted free agent back in 2010. He was scooped up by the Bengals, and never looked back. While he's always been great on special teams, he's also played a lot on defense. In 2016 he started 12 games at linebacker, and in 2017 he started 11.

His playing time dipped last season, and he only started two games. He received a three-year, $11.5 million extension in March of 2016, which just expired. The Ravens lost C.J. Mosley in free agency to the Jets, so it makes sense why they're looking for inside linebacker depth.

They've been sniffing around free agent linebackers for a while, so it wouldn't be surprising if they make a move soon. Rey will turn 32 in September, and it's not clear how much he has left in the tank. If the Ravens do end up signing him, it'll be as a backup and they won't be counting on him to play a large role.
