The 2017-2018 NFL season was a disappointment for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, to say the least. Bucs veteran wide receiver DeSean Jackson is determined not to let it happen again in order to get Tampa Bay back to the playoffs for the first time since 2007, citing that he needs to get on the same page with Bucs starting quarterback Jameis Winston this offseason.

While on FOX Sports' Undisputed and as relayed by Florida Football Insiders, Jackson said that his offseason approach is going to involve him and Winston getting together quite a lot.

“180 (degree) turn,” Jackson said during an interview over the weekend on FS1's Undisputed with Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe. “I mean, off-season we’re coming in working, put the time in. We got like three days in. Just going on to Texas A&M, where his coach (Jimbo Fisher)… coaches now. Going to go there and see Jimbo. Mike Evans is out there (A&M). He’s going to come out there. He’s going to come out here to L.A.”

Jackson admits that the 2017-2018 season snowballed out of control, which cannot happen next season if the Bucs are to be successful in an NFC South division consisting of three playoff teams.

“I think we have to merge. Last year, everything kind of happened at the snap of a finger,” Jackson said. “You got the offseason. You got free agent signings. Everybody was happy about the off-season, but the work has to be put in.”

What is Jackson's advice for Winston? Jameis needs to be Jameis and the leader that Tampa Bay expects him to be.

“He’s got to get back to being Jameis Winston. He’s got to get back to going in the backyard playing and having fun,” Jackson said. “There’s nothing wrong with that (hyping the team up). I like all that. I like the energy. I like all the loud talking. As long as you’re able to do that and back it up, everything is good.”

The Buccaneers, who finished the season with a lackluster 5-11 record, have the No. 7 overall pick in April's 2018 NFL Draft.
