Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver DeSean Jackson was able to play through a hand injury in Week 12. However, it appears he will look to get a second opinion on it.
The injury has not been deemed to be too serious. Regardless, Jackson will visit with doctors in New York to get it re-evaluated, according to Pewter Report:
Article Continues BelowBucs HC Dirk Koetter said WR DeSean Jackson got his hand re-checked today. Said Jackson is going to New York to get a second opinion.
Jackson had been listed as questionable with the hand injury going into Tampa Bay's Week 12 matchup versus the San Francisco 49ers. However, he was still able to play his normal role as the No. 2 option to wide receiver Mike Evans. Unfortunately, Jackson struggled once again to get anything going. Despite receiving the same amount of targets as Evans (8), he only hauled in three receptions for 19 yards.
While it is understandable for a player to get a second opinion, there has been some concern regarding the underlying issues with Jackson. He made himself unavailable for comment after the game and soon followed it up with a cryptic post on Instagram. There have been rumors that he is unhappy with his minor role in the offense. It remains to be seen whether or not they coincide with his injury.
Jackson's performance this season has undoubtedly been disappointing thus far. It appears his lack of rapport with the rest of the team may finally be starting to take its toll. It will be interesting to see if there are any new developments with his hand injury that would cost him playing time moving forward.
