The Chicago Bears are making another move, this time to bolster their offensive line. Chicago is signing guard Ted Larsen to a one-year deal, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.com.
The Bears haven't made any splashy acquisitions yet, but they've quietly been adding a bunch of solid players. They've been adding more under the radar guys who can contribute like Cordarelle Patterson and Buster Skrine, which was clearly their strategy since they didn't have a ton of cap space.
This move is in line with that thinking, and while terms of the deal haven't been announced, they probably got Larsen for very cheap. Larsen is a long-time vet with a ton of starting experience, and it could prove to be a sneaky good move. He comes to the Bears from the Miami Dolphins after spending the last two seasons in Miami.

Larsen didn't play particularly well for the Dolphins, but the Bears are almost certainly signing him as reserve depth and not to start. The Patriots took Larsen in the sixth round back in 2010, but he never ended up playing a down for New England.
He's bounced around the league in several different locations since the Pats cut him. He actually spent the 2016 season with the Bears, so there's some familiarity here. He received very bad marks from Pro Football Focus last year, and graded out as their 76th-best guard. But he'll be nice veteran depth who can fill in if required, and there's very little downside in signing him to a one year deal. The Bears have to do the best they can with very little money, and beggars can't be choosers after all.
