Derek Carr has had his name floated around in trade discussions, with the Las Vegas Raiders rumored to be possibly looking to add a quarterback this offseason. While discussing the matter, James Jones of NFL Network believes that the Chicago Bears would be ‘Super Bowl contenders' with Carr.
“Listen, you have a big time defense. I’ve played Derek Carr, alright,” Jones said. “I wasn’t the fastest wide receiver and had the most catches in my career because he’s a special quarterback at throwing receivers open. You get with an offensive mind in Matt Nagy, you have a good running game, you have some receivers out there, and then you have a big time defense.
Jones, who was a former wide receiver in the NFL, played one season with Carr in 2014. Therefore, he understands how good Carr can be when given an opportunity to succeed.

While Carr has been floated around in trade rumors, the Bears have emerged as a popular team. When the 2019 season concluded, Chicago's GM — Ryan Pace — announced that Mitchell Trubisky would remain the starting quarterback in 2020.
However, with Carr and other quarterbacks being considered options for the Bears, it goes to show that Trubisky's job likely isn't set in stone. If the Raiders replaced Carr this offseason, fans in Chicago would likely welcome the idea of adding Carr via trade.
