Former Chicago Bears great, and all around NFL legend, Gale Sayers has passed away at the age of 77. The news came out via the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

The awards Sayers snagged over the years was numerous. A four-time Pro Bowler, two-time NFL leader in rushing yards, and the like, the former Bears running back might most be remembered for his (roughly) 20 franchise records, leading the team deep in the postseason numerous times and his general nice demeanor by those who knew him.

Details and information happen to be trickling out at the time of this writing, and if they are missing, they are not being purposely omitted. We simply do not want to speculate or dance in the mud when it comes to a man's death.
Nevertheless, Gale Sayers was a force to be recognized with off and on the field. The type of person the NFL will almost certainly celebrate this upcoming weekend, not only in the Bears game, but through the entire National Football League.
