When the Chicago Bears face off with the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday it will put Kyle and Chris Long head to head against each other. Bears guard Kyle Long was activated off the IR before last weeks game against the Minnesota Vikings and he admits that when the two meet up they won't be related, it's all about getting the team a win.
“They tell us to tune out the outside, you know, media, stuff like that, but you can't tune out your family,” Kyle Long told NFL Network's Stacey Dales on Wednesday. “Unfortunately, I'm playing against my family this week. You've got to look at it as just another dude out there. He kind of looks like me, possibly, but on Sunday, we're not related, so I've got to focus on my job.”
It's also intriguing that the two players play on different sides of the ball so there is a chance there could be one on one battles between the two.
It's also going to be a big day on Sunday because their dad, Howie Long is going to turn 59 and what better way to celebrate a birthday than watch your two sons go head to head.
“Man, it's probably going to be pretty crazy for them,” Kyle said, via the Chicago Sun Times. “It's gonna be a fun birthday for them. I don't think my mom will be able to watch. She'll be there, but she'll probably have her eyes covered the whole time. They love their kids. They're going to be happy to be here. I think everybody's just happy.”
The two brothers have faced off twice before with Chris winning each of the battles so there should be even more motivation for Kyle to get the job done.
