Mitchell Trubisky has taken a huge leap from his rookie season to this year and has become the face of a revamped Chicago Bears' offense. Not only has he played well, he has proven that he has what it takes to be the long-term franchise quarterback for the Bears, which is something they have been wanting to find for years.
Unfortunately, Trubisky missed last week's game against the Detroit Lions and will miss this week's game against the New York Giants due to injury. He also admitted that there is one thing that he must improve in moving forward.
In a quote shared by the Chicago Sun-Times, Trubisky noted that he needs to improve his sliding.
“I’ve been told I’ve got to work on my slides a little bit, maybe pick one or stick to one. Throughout a play, I never know whether I’m going to slide forward, get down sideways or just go straight and give myself up early.”
At 24 years old, Trubisky is without question headed towards stardom. Chicago looks like a legitimate contender in the NFC this season and will be a force to be reckoned with for years to come.
Throughout the 10 games that he has played this season for the Bears, Trubisky has completed 65.4 percent of his pass attempts for 2,469 yards, 20 touchdowns, and nine interceptions. Those numbers show exactly why there is a ton of hype surrounding Trubisky, not just in Chicago, but also the entire NFL.
Chicago definitely made the right decision to make an aggressive trade to be able to take Trubisky with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft.
