After a rough first couple of weeks, Chicago Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky turned in an impressive performance during the Bears' win over the Washington Redskins on Monday night, completing 25 of his 31 passes for 231 yards, three touchdowns and an interception.
Afterward, Trubisky refused to call the outing anything more than an improvement.
“I don’t know if I’d call it a breakthrough yet,” Trubisky said, according to J.J. Stankevitz of NBC Sports Chicago. “We gotta keep getting better and keep growing.”
Bears head coach Matt Nagy seems to share the same sentiment.

And we were getting first downs, and any time you get first downs you can get to the next call on the play sheet. . . . I thought rhythm-wise, it was our best in the three games.”
Chicago thumped the Redskins by a score of 31-15 in Washington, getting out to a 28-0 lead before the Redskins chipped away, scoring 15 unanswered points. The Bears then proceeded to close the door.
The win brought Chicago to 2-1 on the season and marks the club's second straight victory, as it defeated the Denver Broncos by a score of 16-14 last Sunday, also on the road.
One thing is for sure: Monday evening certainly represented a significant step in the right direction for the Bears' offense, which mustered just 19 points over the first two weeks.
Chicago will return home to take on the Minnesota Vikings next Sunday.
