Chicago Bears defensive coordinator Vic Fangio is a hot commodity right now, as he already has head-coaching interviews scheduled for next Monday with the Miami Dolphins and the Denver Broncos, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

This does not come as much of a surprise. After all, Fangio led a dominant Bears defense that ranked third in the NFL this season and was actually interviewed for Chicago's head-coaching position last year.

Fangio joined the Bears' coaching staff in 2015, immediately assuming the post of defensive coordinator.

Prior to his term in Chicago, Fangio served as the San Francisco 49ers' defensive coordinator for four seasons between 2011 and 2014.

His first NFL job came all the way back in 1986 when he was hired as the New Orleans Saints' linebackers coach, a position he held for an incredible nine seasons before becoming the Carolina Panthers' defensive coordinator in 1995.

After spending four seasons with the Panthers, Fangio was hired as the Indianapolis Colts' defensive coordinator in 1999, residing there for three seasons before making his way to the Houston Texans to become their defensive coordinator in 2002.

Fangio also spent four years with the Baltimore Ravens, holding posts as a special assistant to the head coach and as a linebackers coach from 2006 through 2009.

He was also Stanford's defensive coordinator for one year in 2010 before returning to the NFL the following season.

The Dolphins went 7-9 this season and fired head coach Adam Gase after three seasons with the franchise. The Broncos went 6-10, finishing with back-to-back losing campaigns for the first time since 1972. Vance Joseph, who coached the team for two years, was canned as a result.
