Chicago Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky finally enjoyed the breakout performance fans had been hoping for in Week 4. It seems he is now taking a more superstitious approach moving forward.
Trubisky was seen sporting an arm sleeve during Chicago's 48-10 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. According to Mark Grote of 670 The Score, he is going to keep it on this week versus the Miami Dolphins:
Bears QB Mitchell Trubisky will wear an arm sleeve again this week. admitted some superstition. Had initially worn it because of a pesky cut on his arm, then he went and threw 6 TD's. Can't ditch it now.
Of course, the notion of an arm sleeve bringing luck is a bit far-fetched. However, it certainly would not hurt to try after his performance against Tampa Bay. Trubisky completed 19 of 26 passes for 354 yards and six touchdowns with his new accessory. To ditch it now without giving it another shot would be ludicrous.
There had been plenty of hype surrounding Trubisky's progression entering the 2018 campaign. Chicago was hoping to finally see some return on their investment after trading up to select him with the second overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. They also managed to surround him with a plethora of playmakers to serve as potential safety nets. Unfortunately, things got off to a slow start this season on offense.
However, the stellar play from their talented defense has helped lift the Bears into first place in the NFC North Division. Trubisky is hoping that the arm sleeve will help him prove that his six-touchdown outing in Week 4 was no fluke.
