The Chicago Bears were able to move to 2-1 with a dominant Week 3 victory on Monday Night Football over the Washington Redskins. Mitchell Trubisky and company looked much better than they had in the first two weeks of the season and were able to ride that improvement to a 31-15 win on the road.
For the Bears and their fans, the improvement that Trubisky shown was a massive positive from the game.
Trubisky ended up completing 25 of his 31 pass attempts for 231 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception. Chicago has been waiting to see that version of their franchise quarterback. He showed major signs of improvement last season, but the first two games this year were incredibly rough.
Chicago's defense once again stepped up with a huge game. Khalil Mack had two sacks, Ha Ha Clinton-Dix had two interceptions with one being returned for a touchdown, and Kyle Fuller also had an interception. When the defense plays like that, Trubisky's job gets much easier.
With all of that being said, what grade does Trubisky deserve for his performance against the Redskins?
Mitchell Trubisky Week 3 Grade: B+
Article Continues BelowThere is no question that he deserves a high grade for the game, but the interception that he threw to Josh Norman took his grade down just a bit. Trubisky is worthy of a solid B+ for his Week 3 production.
After seeing him play well against Washington, the Bears can take a major breath of fresh air. All they had heard over the last two weeks had been criticism surrounding their quarterback. Matt Nagy's offense finally showed flashes of what they were able to accomplish last season.
If Trubisky can continue playing at this level and the defense keeps up their strong play as well, the Bears are going to be a serious contender once again in the NFC.
Nagy and company know that they are going to have to step up their level of play immediately. The Green Bay Packers are 3-0 on the season and the Minnesota Vikings look like an improved football team. Even the Detroit Lions have a 2-0-1 record after the first three games.
Expect to see Trubisky use this game as a springboard to even bigger things. He is back and the Bears are dangerous once again.
