The Cincinnati Bengals are flying under the radar 0nce again this season with many believe that they don't have much of a chance to make the playoffs. Unfortunately, their hopes of shocking the league may have taken a major blow early on in training camp.
According to a report from James Palmer of the NFL Network, star wide receiver A.J. Green was carted off of the practice field on Saturday after suffering what appeared to be a lower left leg injury.
A.J. Green was participating in a 7-7 drill and came down awkwardly. He ended up leaving practice on a cart after being looked at. it was not the foot that kept him out last year, this was the lower left leg. Don’t know if it was ankle, foot or what yet. More to come.

This is awful news for the Bengals. There have been no reports about what the injury actually is, but it was noted that it was not the foot that he had trouble with last season.
Article Continues BelowLast season with the Bengals, Green ended up catching 46 passes for 694 yards and six touchdowns. He missed some time due to a foot injury later in the year.
At 30 years old, there were some trade rumors surrounding Green this offseason. Cincinnati doesn't seem interested in moving him, but this injury would be devastating to both Green and the Bengals' franchise. Hopefully, it is nothing serious and he will only miss a short amount of time to recover from the injury.
More information should become available at some point in the near future. In the meantime, fans and the media will be concerned about this news. Anytime a lower leg injury is seen, the worst is feared, but it's too soon to speculate on what this could be.
