Although the Cincinnati Bengals are not expected to serve as a legitimate threat in AFC North this season, the team certainly won't complain about getting its best player back on the field sooner rather than later. Injured wide receiver A.J. Green is expected to miss the start of the 2019 regular season, though the former All-Pro pass catcher will be giving an official update regarding his health next week.

However, it is also worth noting that Green remains in a walking boot as the Bengals continue to gear up for the team's Week 1 matchup against the always dangerous Seattle Seahawks.

“Wide receiver A.J. Green (ankle) is still in a boot and in the protocol of not talking to the media. But he said he'll deliver an update next week,” writes Geoff Hobson of the team's official website.

Adding to the Bengals' injury troubles, first-round draft pick Jonah Williams has already been placed on the team's physically unable to perform list (PUP). The rookie offensive lineman was forced to the sideline due to his surgically-repaired shoulder and notably can’t practice for six weeks. Even so, Williams still hopes to return in December en route to potentially making his NFL debut for the Bengals before the new year rolls around.

“That’s definitely my goal,” Williams recently told the team's official website. “I’m not thinking about [a timetable]. I’m just trying to get better every day and I figure if I do that it will take care of itself.”

The Bengals are widely expected to finish in last place in the divisional standings behind the Pittsburgh Steelers, Baltimore Ravens, and Cleveland Browns.
