The Cincinnati Bengals suffered their first loss of the season in Week 3 against the Carolina Panthers after a disappointing performance that was only further scrutinized with star wide receiver A.J. Green suffering a groin injury. Luckily, head coach Marvin Lewis isn't worried.

This raised questions about his availability for Sunday's game against the Altanta Falcons. On Wednesday Lewis stated that Green will be ready to play in the contest, per D. Orlando Ledbetter of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

“Well, he’ll be ready to go,” Lewis said in advance of Sunday game at 1 p.m. at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. “It’s his first opportunity to play in the state of Georgia in awhile.”

Green's presence will be a huge factor in Sunday's game with the Bengals looking to get back on track to extend their command in the AFC North. The 30-year-old is a major piece of the puzzle offensively as the primary target in the passing game as quarterback Andy Dalton's favorite target. He is out to a strong start this season, recording 16 catches for 219 receiving yards and four touchdowns. This includes an impressive performance in Week 2, posting five receptions for 69 receiving yards and three touchdowns in the win over the Baltimore Ravens.

The Bengals have a highly favorable matchup against the Falcons defense that ranks 26th in the league against the pass, giving up a 97.8 opposing quarterback passer rating. Things have only gotten more difficult on that side of the ball with both of their starting safeties out for a significant amount of time.

Green should perform well along with third-year wideout Tyler Boyd, who has stepped up in the first three games this season with a team-best 249 receiving yards on 15 catches and a pair of touchdowns.
