In a shocking turn of events, the Cleveland Browns were able to reach a deal with the Houston Texans to acquire Deshaun Watson. Now, roughly a week after the initial trade, Watson and the organization spoke with the media about everything going on. It's been a jumbled mess with plenty of different points of view. However, the franchise explains how they feel about their new quarterback.

According to Aaron Wilson, Dee Haslam, one of the owners of the Browns, explains how the organization explains how signing Deshaun Watson has been hard on their families. Many are upset with Watson playing in Cleveland, especially after he received a massive contract extension. However, Haslam claims their “compassion is very deep” for those who have dealt with sexual abuse.

Furthermore, the Browns received some flack for not reaching out to any of the 22 women who filed lawsuits against Watson. However, Jimmy Haslam claims that they received “strong recommendations from legal not to reach out” to any of the women who filed a lawsuit, per Nate Ulrich. Although that might be a smart decision made by the legal team, it still isn't a great look for Cleveland.

At the end of the day, the Browns are comfortable with Deshaun Watson. Nate Ulrich claims that the Haslams are “very comfortable with Deshaun Watson the person.” So, Cleveland likes Watson for who he is. The organization is willing to give the star quarterback a second chance.

Overall, it was a messy press conference as both the Browns and Watson looked bad throughout. Regardless, Deshaun Watson will be playing in Cleveland for the unforeseeable future. We'll see how it plays out, but many are still upset with how this franchise, and the league, handle this entire situation.
