There has been a ton of rumors over the years that Peyton Manning would eventually land a job with the Cleveland Browns. However, despite all the rumors forever hanging around the legendary gunslinger, he's yet to do anything other than shill some products on TV.

According to Jimmy Haslam of the Cleveland Browns, this isn't changing anytime soon.

During the presser to introduce new general manager John Dorsey, Haslam was forced to discuss the idea of Peyton Manning being in Cleveland's front-office.

Asked about Manning’s potential arrival, Haslam initially said:

“If I say we had dinner Monday night would it cause a ripple?”

Naturally, then Haslam said that he and Manning indeed had dinner on Monday night.

“Peyton and I talk all the time,” Haslam added, explaining that the majority of the time they discuss Tennessee football.

For whatever it is worth, Haslam said that the retired quarterback isn’t sure what he wants to do in his future. At the same time, Haslam didn’t close the door on him eventually joining the Browns.

As a somewhat relative reference point: The Denver Broncos have John Elway running things for their organization. While he has done some rather terrific things in his role, the area he should be best at, finding a good quarterback, seems to be the part of the job he is the worst at doing.

Keep that in mind when your mind begins to wander over to the idea that Manning could help find Cleveland's first good QB since Cheers was dominating national television.
