After the Carolina Panthers decided to draft Matt Corral in the 2022 NFL Draft, folks on Twitter couldn't help but mock Baker Mayfield.
The Panthers were the biggest suitors of Mayfield, and many believe they were going to trade for him after the draft. Carolina was also reportedly in talks with the Cleveland Browns during the annual rookie selection, but in the end, the team decided to take another route and picked a QB instead.
It was the latest and perhaps the most substantial blow to Mayfield's desire to leave the team and the Browns' hope to move him. Sure enough, NFL Twitter had a field day poking fun at the situation.
Several people pointed out that the decision by the Panthers to avoid Mayfield and take a gamble on a rookie QB is enough proof to show the low market value of the veteran signal-caller.

In what should be a surprise to no one, nobody in the NFL values Baker Mayfield at all. The word for this is BUST.

Mayfield no longer has a future in Cleveland after the Browns acquired Deshaun Watson earlier in the offseason. They were hoping someone would be interested in their former starting QB, but all the back and forth between the two parties only decreased his value even more.
Now, it remains to be seen where Mayfield will end up with after the latest setback. One thing is for sure, though: it's not going to be in Carolina with the Panthers.
