Josh Gordon‘s highly anticipated return to the field is just a few weeks away. After failing another drug test, Gordon was issued a four-game suspension at the start of the 2016 season. But now, he's facing a separate charge.

A judge issued a warrant for the arrest of Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon after he failed to respond to several months worth of subpoenas in a paternity case.

The case stems from a complaint made in juvenile court from Christina Lockhart of Maple Heights, who says Gordon is the father of her now 1-year-old daughter.
Subpoenas were sent to his home in Los Angeles as well as a number of addresses in Cleveland, with none receiving a response. Subsequent subpoenas were issued to the Browns, the NFL, Addidas, and his famous agent, Drew Rosenhaus.
The Browns released an official statement on the matter:

There is some good news for Browns fans. From Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal:
The NFL, though, won't punish Gordon in connection with the legal matter.
“This [case] will not affect his status [with the league],” NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy told the Beacon Journal on Wednesday afternoon.
Gordon missed all of 2015 with a separate drug suspension. Despite this latest situation, it appears the Browns fans will see Gordon back on the field in Week 5 against the New England Patriots for the first time since Week 16 of the 2014 season.
