Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck has a bunch of options to help him recover from his injury. Unfortunately, at least according to reports, all the options are both confusing and awful.
Firstly, it is being said that Andrew Luck does not need surgery. For clarification purposes, that is at least for just right now and can change if things don't get better down the road.
Doctors are also advising him to not throw a football for months. This really seems like an awful thing, especially when you consider Luck's literal day job is the throw footballs. Him being advised to not do that, while somewhat precautionary, screams that this can be a long-term problem.
The rehab route, which is reported to be two-three months, seems great, right? But we need to note again, and strongly, that all of that can happen, go great, but then still result in another surgery.
Per NFL.com, which has provided the majority of the most recent reports:
Luck does have several problems inside his shoulder in other parts beyond what was repaired — most of which came from his mechanics changing due to compensating for the injury. Doctors have tried to figure out if the soreness is from his original issue (they don't think so) or new issues.
Listen, no matter fan allegiance, this stinks. Once considered the future of the position, it appears Andrew Luck's career is in jeopardy. This can be spun by the Colts however they want, but this is an ongoing, never ending situation. It isn't good.
