Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Cole Beasley failed to finish Sunday’s game against the Washington Redskins after leaving the third quarter with a concussion. Now placed in the concussion protocol, the 28-year-old wideout is in danger of missing Week 9’s game versus the Kansas City Chiefs.
Players differ in their speed of recovery from a concussion. Due to that, Cole Beasley appearing in the Kansas City game remains a possibility. For now, Beasley is on a day-to-day basis according to Dallas head coach Jason Garrett via Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk.
“Bease had a concussion during the game,” Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said Monday. “But he was here this morning, and he seemed good. So we’ll take his situation day-by-day.”
Beasley has regressed this season after leading the Cowboys last year in receptions. Before being taken out against Washington, Beasley had eight receiving yards on two catches.
Article Continues BelowTo date, Cole Beasley only has 18 catches, which he has converted to 141 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.
In case the Cowboys eventually rule out Beasley, expect Terrance Williams and Ryan Switzer to have increased roles on Dallas’ passing offense against the Chiefs.
In relatively noteworthy twist, this all comes after a false report surfaced slightly over a week ago, in which people were claiming the receiver would be used as potential trade bait. Again, that report was false, but was picked up by several big boy news networks.
With the trade deadline quickly approaching (only a few hours away), fully expect more insane/not real reports to surface.
