Cameron Fleming has some company in his visit to the Dallas Cowboys. Fellow New England Patriots tackle LaAdrian Waddle is also in town to talk to the Cowboys for two days, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports.
The Cowboys are hosting not one but two Patriots free agent offensive tackles. Source said LaAdrian Waddle is visiting tonight and tomorrow. He joins Cameron Fleming, who is also visiting.
Waddle, 26, spent his first two-plus seasons with the Detroit Lions, starting 24 of the 31 games he played. He was cut during the 2015 season and was claimed off waivers by the Patriots. After playing just two games in his first full year with the team in 2016, Waddle took on a much larger role on the team last year. He appeared in 12 regular-season games (with four starts) at right tackle, and also appeared in two of their three playoff games.

The Cowboys are reportedly contemplating bringing right tackle La’el Collins back to guard next season, which is likely why they’ve brought the two Patriots tackles in. Waddle is clearly not of the same caliber as other Cowboys offensive linemen like Tyron Smith, Zack Martin, and Travis Frederick. But the Cowboys are likely looking for a steady and experienced option who can do a decent enough job at right tackle, and Waddle has shown he can at least do that.
