The Dallas Cowboys are making headlines by becoming the first NFL team to have a casino as a sponsor.
Earlier this year, the Supreme Court decided to allow sports gambling in all 50 states. The floodgates have opened, and the Cowboys are at the forefront of a new age of sponsorships.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones announced this new partnership on Thursday. His team will employ the Winstar World Casino and Resort in Oklahoma to be their official casino. Other NFL teams will likely follow suit at some point. There's no telling who will go public next. One thing's for sure; the Oakland Raiders will take advantage of this ruling when they relocate to Nevada in 2020. California, Florida, and Arizona are some other casino-heavy states with NFL teams that could take advantage of this ruling.

The NFL is reportedly working on easing up on their regulations regarding casinos that operate sports books. While it's unlikely that these partnerships will take us back to the point-shaving days of the past, anything could happen. Not too long ago, former NBA referee Tim Donaghy hatched a betting scheme with some high school friends while influencing the point spread of games from 2005 through 2007.
