The Dallas Cowboys have a short week with a big game coming up. And their receiver, who has exceeded all expectations, joined a teammate in missing practice Monday. George Pickens and KaVontae Turpin sat out the day after the Cowboys edged the Eagles on a last-second field goal.
Pickens is coming off a monster game, where he played a key role in his team’s important 24-21 win over the defending Super Bowl champions. He finished with 146 yards receiving and scored a touchdown.
However, he developed a couple of dings in the contest, according to a post on X by Tom Pelissero.
The Cowboys listed WRs George Pickens (knee/calf) and KaVontae Turpin (shoulder/illness) as nonparticipants on today's estimated injury report.

Pickens was a busy guy against the Eagles. He drew nine targets and caught every one of them. And apparently, the usage caught up with him as the Cowboys prepare for their Thanksgiving Day showdown against the Chiefs.
Monday’s practice was a walkthrough. However, Pickens would haven’t been able to go, according to Sports Illustrated.

“The Cowboys held a walkthrough on Monday and listed wide receiver George Pickens (knee/calf), offensive tackle Tyler Guyton (ankle), defensive tackle Osa Odighizuwa (elbow), and wide receiver KaVontae Turpin (shoulder/illness) as DNPs,” Zach Dimmitt wrote. “If the Cowboys had practiced in pads, these four players would have sat out.”
However, Brian Schottenheimer doesn’t expect Pickens or Williams to miss the game against the Chiefs, according to a post on X by Jon Machota.
“Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer didn’t have a lot to add on George Pickens’ leg injury or Quinnen Williams’ rib injury, but he sounded optimistic that both will be able to play Thursday against the Chiefs.”
Those are two very important players for this game because the Chiefs will have trouble matching up against the two No. 1 wide receivers. Also, the Chiefs are at their best when they can run the football. And Williams gives them a chance to slow down the Chiefs’ ground game.
