The Dallas Cowboys made the blockbuster move earlier this week acquiring former Pro Bowl wide receiver Amari Cooper in exchange for a 2019 first-round draft pick.

“He's been as advertised with his conscientiousness, how he approaches his work ethic,” Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said Friday during his weekly appearance on 105.3 The Fan. “And, of course, he has unique skills.”
Although Cooper has had much difficulty finding consistency on the field along with dealing with injuries, he has demonstrated his career that he can be a game-changing talent. He isn't too far removed from earning back-to-back Pro Bowl selections in his first two campaigns in the league after tallying more than 1,000 receiving yards in each season.
Cooper had notable struggles in the 2018 campaign with the Raider under head coach Jon Gruden where his production had plenty of peaks and valleys. He had notched 22 receptions for 280 receiving yards and a touchdown in the first six games played this season. He recorded two 100 receiving yard performances this season but has been a complete non-factor in the other four games played recording no greater than two catches and 17 receiving yards in any contest. Things had been heading in the path of him putting together another topsy-turvy campaign.
He now has a chance to latch onto a crucial role in the Cowboys' passing game as the clear-cut No.1 receiving option. Dallas has struggled to pinpoint on a receiving option on the roster that can provide that much-needed production in that spot. If he's able to excel in that spot, it could provide a pivotal element to the offense that could put them back in the mix to compete for the playoffs this season.
