The Dallas Cowboys clinched the NFC East division title with their win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday afternoon, but team owner Jerry Jones is not satisfied with the team's performance overall, saying that the franchise “have some work to do,” according to David Helman of the Cowboys' official team website.

Dallas can't earn a first-round bye and are locked into the No. 4 seed in the NFC, so next week's game against the New York Giants is relatively meaningless for them.

However, based on Jones' statement, it doesn't sound like Dallas will be resting any starters for that matchup.

You can understand why, as the Cowboys haven't looked very good over these last two weeks. They were shut out by the Indianapolis Colts in a 23-0 defeat last weekend, and on Sunday, Dallas struggled a bit with a below average Buccaneers team.

Considering that the Cowboys' playoff appearances have been checkered with disappointments over the last 20 years, you can see why Jones is not nearly content with the current state of affairs.

Dallas currently owns a record of 9-6 and has won six of its last seven games after a 3-5 start. The Cowboys have also now won three NFC East division crowns over the last five years, a rather impressive feat in an always competitive NFC East.

Still, since the 1996-97 campaign, Dallas has won just two playoff games, an unacceptable total for a franchise that is considered one of the best and most storied in the NFL.

This year, however, the Cowboys might be able to make some noise in a wide open NFC.
