Holdouts due to stalled contract negotiations are the primary reason why some players in the NFL choose to not join organized team activities. This will not be the sort of headache that Sean Payton and George Paton have to undergo. Courtland Sutton is a big asset for the squad entering the season and he will attend the Denver Broncos' training camps amid his negotiations for a better deal.
No holdout for Courtland Sutton

Courtland Sutton elected to not attend Sean Payton and the Broncos' offseason program. This was largely because it was voluntary. Others suspected that it was because he was holding out for a better contract but that clearly was not the case. This elite wide receiver is choosing to join the upcoming minicamps. He even outlined the reason why the choice was made despite George Paton and the front office not giving him a new contract yet, via DNVR Sports.
“I will be there. A small tidbit: It's been killing me not being at OTAs. This has been a very different offseason that I've been a part of since I've been in the league. Anybody who knows me, anybody who's played with me understands that I love this game. I love the game of ball. I give any and everything that I possibly can when it comes to the preparation when it comes to the competition of football,” the Broncos' weapon said.
Courtland Sutton will be one of the few constants in Sean Payton's offense. The Broncos just saw Russell Wilson get dealt to the Pittsburgh Steelers and now have a quarterback conundrum. Regardless of who gets to be the primary signal caller, whether it be Bo Nix, Jarrett Stidham, or Zach Wilson, Sutton will be the primary guy catching balls from deep.
The one-time NFL Pro Bowl selection has a lot to offer for the Broncos offense. Hopefully, they are able to keep him.
A desire to stay with the Broncos
Sutton has known and loved this team since he was born. So, he expressed the desire to stay within the George Paton and Sean Payton-led franchise. However, his needs still come first before anything else which is why he wants that contract before anything gets going in the season.
“Keeping it PG, but boys know the saying: I would give that up to be able to get us back into the playoffs and to go play for a Super Bowl and to be able to go out there and do what we know what we're capable of doing for this organization and this city,” Sutton declared.
He offers more than just his production of 700+ receiving yards. His development has been stellar and it has shown with the increased lethality in the end zone. Just last season, he notched a career-high 10 touchdowns.
Moreover, his ability to be very visible such that the Broncos' signal callers can find him has also gotten better. Sutton got a 54.4% success rate on his targets which is once again the highest that it has ever been for him. For someone who loves the game and the city as much as he does, a contract and longer stay in the NFL could come sooner rather than later.
