Drew Lock has high expectations entering his second season in the NFL and he spoke about some of his experiences as a rookie in 2019. While speaking about his first year in the NFL, Lock told a hilarious story of him returning to Kansas City as the Denver Broncos quarterback.
“It's definitely weird. This was awhile ago but I was at a golf course and walked in with my Broncos hat on and asked for a water and they're like I don't think we can serve you. I was like wow. You definitely get beef around here.”
Lock, a Missouri native, was born in Columbia, Missouri — a city that is less than two hours from Kansas City. In addition, he played his college football at the University of Missouri. However, after four years at Missouri, Lock was taken by the Broncos with the No. 42 pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.
Provided that, even though he was beloved in Missouri in college, that flipped once he was selected by a rival of the Kansas City Chiefs. So much so, that the Broncos signal-caller was unable to be served a drink at a golf course.

Similar to most quarterbacks though, Lock mightily struggled, completing 18 of his 40 attempts for 208 yards and an interception. At one point in his life, Lock was viewed as a fan favorite in the state of Missouri. Now, as the starter in Denver, he realizes that he probably should shy away from wearing a Broncos hat in his home state.
