Courtland Sutton emerged as the Denver Broncos' No. 1 wide receiver in 2019, but the club still needs some help at the position.

Broncos general manager John Elway acknowledged as much on Monday, saying that the team will likely address their lack of depth at wideout in the NFL Draft this week:

“We do need a wide out,” said Elway, according to Mike Klis of 9 News. “The good thing is it’s a deep class. We’ll see how it falls.”

This past weekend, Woody Paige of The Denver Post reported that Denver—which currently owns the 15th overall pick in the first round of the draft—was looking to trade into the top 10 to try and land Alabama receiver Jerry Jeudy.

Sutton broke out this past season, hauling in 72 receptions for 1,112 yards and six touchdowns en route to a Pro Bowl appearance. However, excluding Emmanuel Sanders, who caught 30 passes before being traded midseason, the Broncos' next-most productive receiver was DaeSean Hamilton, who logged just 28 catches for 297 yards and a touchdown.

Clearly, Denver needs to add some talent at wide receiver, so it would be a surprise if the Broncos didn't look to shore up the position Thursday through Saturday.

Fortunately, Denver has one of the NFL's top up and coming tight ends in Noah Fant, who is coming off of a solid rookie campaign in which he snared 40 balls for 562 yards while reaching the end zone three times.

But, the Broncos need to do whatever they can to supply quarterback Drew Lock with enough talent to succeed in his second season.
