Pro Bowl running back Melvin Gordon has recently agreed to a two-year, $16 million deal with the Denver Broncos, a source confirmed to ESPN.

Gordon will now be joining a backfield that already includes Pro Bowler Phillip Lindsay. In a recent interview with Mike Klis of KUSA, Gordon spoke out about teaming up with Lindsay.

“I can’t tell you how he feels right now,” Gordon said. “I was just a 1-2 punch with Austin Ekeler so it’s a little different for me, I don’t want to say the wrong thing. I’ve got new teammates now I’m trying to be all good. He’s going to continue to be a phenomenal player. The people in Denver are going to continue to love him. I know for sure he’s going to keep rolling. [We were] at Pro Bowl together. Cool dude. I’m excited to team up w/him and see what we can do.”

This past season, Lindsay led the Broncos in carries (224), yards rushing (1,011) and rushing touchdowns (7). Adding Gordon to that backfield will certainly decline his averages. However, the Broncos will certainly have  that one-two punch.

In his five seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers, Gordon had played phenomenal. The 26-year-old has rushed for 4,240 yards and has recorded 47 touchdowns. In addition, his whopping 47 touchdowns are the third-most in the NFL since the start of the 2016 NFL season. This past season, Gordon ran 162 times for 612 yards and eight touchdowns while catching 42 passes.

Nevertheless, it'll be interesting to see the Broncos backfield next season which features two Pro Bowl running backs.
