Former Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco has since officially become current Denver Broncos quarterback Joe Flacco. However, Flacco doesn't seem to be getting any more respect than he did in Baltimore now that he is in Denver despite previously leading the Ravens to a Super Bowl title.
Even so, at least one NFL defensive coordinator still believes in Flacco and his abilities under center while even expressing that the veteran quarterback can reach his peak again with Denver.
“Sometimes when you get a second opportunity or a new team, you go back to your peak, and I think Flacco is going to do that this year,” the NFL defensive coordinator recently told The Athletic.
Flacco previously spent his entire NFL playing career in Baltimore as a member of the Ravens while ultimately finding himself in Denver by way of an offseason trade to the Broncos. Now in Denver, Flacco will start under center for first-year head coach Vic Fangio, who is expecting the seasoned signal-caller to turn things around in a hurry for the once-heralded — but more recently troubled — AFC West franchise.
Over the course of the last few seasons, the struggling Broncos have been unable to find the team's quarterback of the future — or present for that matter.
It is also worth noting that such a list pans out exactly how one would expect in terms of the top of the heap. The Athletic ranked Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, and New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees as the top three signal-callers, respectively, that the league currently has to offer.
