Vance Joseph is undefeated so far in his NFL head coaching career. His record: 1-0.

That’s after his Denver Broncos trumped the Los Angeles Chargers at home in a close 24-21 win Monday night.

With the victory, Joseph joined 11 other Broncos head coaches before him who were able to get a win in their respective debuts for the storied NFL franchise.

The Broncos nearly fumbled the win, as they squandered a 17-point lead entering the fourth quarter with Los Angeles outscoring Denver in the final period, 14-0.

Before agreeing to a deal with Denver to coach the team back in January, Joseph spent time as a defensive coordinator with the Miami Dolphins last year. He also held defensive backs coach jobs for the Cincinnati Bengals and the Houston Texans.

Joseph went undrafted in the 1995 NFL Draft but found his way into playing 17 games in the league with the New York Jets and the Indianapolis Colts.
