Although a defensive-minded head coach, Denver Broncos newcomer Vic Fangio is already pretty optimistic about his team's offense. Presumably leading to some of that optimism, the Broncos notably acquired former Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco via trade this offseason.

“I think offensively, we have a chance to be better than people think we do,” Fangio said of the Broncos offense, via 247 Sports. “I think the players are better on offense than the perception was when I first got there.”

It is also worth noting that Fangio and Flacco go all the way back to their days in Baltimore with the Ravens.

“I’ve known Joe for a while,” Fangio recently said, via 247 Sports. “I was obviously in Baltimore his first two years in the league and got to know him some there. Then obviously coaching against him. I haven’t coached against him a ton. Obviously the Super Bowl, and then we played Baltimore once while I was in Chicago. I think I’ve only coached against Joe three or four times total, but I like Joe. I think Joe’s a good football player, a good quarterback, has been productive, has been a winner. I like his personality. I think he’ll be a good fit for us.”

Of course, the Broncos still have some work to do as Denver plays in the always dangerous AFC West division alongside both the surging Los Angeles Chargers and upstart Kansas City Chiefs.

Not only that, but the lowly Oakland Raiders also got significantly better this offseason.
