In just a few days, Pro Bowl quarterback Kirk Cousins will hit free agency for the first time in his career where he will be a highly sought-after player on the open market. Among those expected teams interested in him will be the Denver Broncos, who possess a pressing need to address their quarterback situation.

A major component of the Broncos' push to potentially sign Cousins has been All-Pro defensive end/outside linebacker Von Miller, who has been quite vocal about his desire to convince the 29-year-old to join the fray in Denver. According to James Palmer of The NFL Network, Miller once again made it clear that he is all in on recruiting the seventh-year quarterback.

“I'm all in 100 percent,” Miller told me in Dallas. “This is a big time for Denver and a big time for the National Football League. You don't really have, especially quarterbacks, become free like that. So it's an exciting time in the National Football League.

“It's kind of like college again. You got an athlete coming to your school and you want to try your best to get them there. And that's the same thing with us. We would really like to have Kirk. I think him and his personality and the things that he brings to the table fits in with Denver. But there are a lot of great teams out there with large pocket books. So we'll have to just wait and see. But I'll have to give him the ultimate spiel on why Denver is special to me.”

Miller has been at the forefront of the Broncos' effort to help convey to Cousins that Denver is the ideal landing spot for him this offseason. The front office has constructed a well-balanced roster headed by the stout defense that could help make them an appealing landing spot.

Denver has also made their situation more appealing by freeing up additional salary cap space by moving Pro Bowl cornerback Aqib Talib's $11 million salary off the books by trading him to the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday afternoon. The front office now has a little over $34 million in cap space to make a more appealing offer to Cousins.

That said, the Broncos are one of several teams alongside the Minnesota Vikings, Arizona Cardinals, and New York Jets all vying to sign him in free agency. Miller's efforts to recruit Cousins will be determined if they paid off in the next few days.
