The Denver Broncos have lined up in front of them a primetime matchup against the upstart Kansas City Chiefs that will once again put the spotlight on the play of their defense.

Despite dealing with an ankle injury, All-Pro outside linebacker Von Miller is expected to play in Sunday's game against the Chiefs, according to Jeff Legwold of ESPN.

This is encouraging news for the Broncos as Miller has been the anchor defensively behind his stellar play as he's currently second in the league with 7.5 sacks along with 29 total tackles, four forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries. He has provided a much-needed pass rush presence that will be key in helping limit second-year quarterback Patrick Mahomes impact on the game.

However, the Broncos have had their fair share of struggles defensively over the last few weeks as they allowed back-to-back 200 rushing yard performances from New York Jets running back Isaiah Crowell and Los Angeles Rams' Todd Gurley. The team did step up last week against the Cardinals forcing three interceptions with two returned for touchdowns while Miller posted a pair of sacks in the 45-10 blowout win. This is was a positive step forward after a disastrous two weeks prior to that that contributed to their four-game skid.

This will mark the second time and final time that the Broncos will face the Chiefs in the regular season with the first meeting seeing them come up short in the fourth quarter that led them losing a double-digit lead. This is an opportunity for them to avenge their shortcomings while making up some ground on Kansas City in the division race. In that Week 4 matchup, Miller had just one tackle. If the Broncos hope to pull out a win against one of the league's most explosive offenses, it will have to see the Pro Bowler play a huge factor against the pass.
