The Denver Broncos are set to get preseason action underway on Saturday night against the Minnesota Vikings, and they will play many of their starters to begin the game.
According to James Palmer of The NFL Network, this will include All-Pro outside linebacker Von Miller, who will take the field for the first series or two of the game.
Broncos first team offense and defense will get two series max on Saturday vs the Vikings. Von Miller will play. There was a thought maybe he wouldn’t. Not because of anything other than he’s Von Miller and probably wouldn’t have to.

There isn't a necessity for Miller to be out there in any capacity given that he has a full bill of health. Some action should help the All-Pro get his legs under him ahead of the start of the 2018 regular season, where the Broncos will continue to lean on him as a major contributor. He is still playing at an elite level as one of the best pass rushers in the NFL after coming off yet another productive campaign where he recorded 10.0 sacks with 57 total tackles and two forced fumbles
2017 marked the sixth season where he notched double-digit sacks in his first seven years in the league, all with the Broncos. In fact, he has become the first player in team history to notch at least five sacks in each of his first seven seasons in the league, pushing himself up to second all-time in team history with 83.5 career sacks. In the last four years, he also leads the NFL with 48.5 sacks and is third in the last two years with 23.5 sacks.
Over the duration of the preseason, Miller will likely continue to see limited snaps as the team is hoping to preserve him to help lead the defense once again in the 2018 campaign. Denver is hoping to finally break through toward getting back into the playoff picture, and the 29-year-old will surely be a part of the equation in pushing the team in that direction.
