After weeks of rumors that the Denver Broncos would be open to trading star cornerback Chris Harris Jr., things are still at a standstill. Not only does Harris still want a new contract, but it seems as if the Broncos aren’t willing to budge on giving him one just yet.
Despite the unevenness of the situation, one of Harris’ teammates believe he should be paid.
Speaking on Harris’ ongoing situation with the team, Von Miller shared his thoughts, saying that he thinks Harris deserved to be paid.
According to The Athletic’s Nicki Jhabvala, Miller took the side of the players, describing how oftentimes, players are told they’ll be paid if they do everything right, and he thinks Harris has done that.

Of course, there is the business side to things, and it seems as if the Broncos aren’t willing to pay their cornerback just yet.
Article Continues BelowAccording to the latest rumors, Harris is still asking for more than $15 million a year in his latest deal, and while he’s certainly been worth it throughout the last couple of season, a deal isn’t materializing just yet.
At the moment, Harris will be entering the final year of his five-year extension that he signed in 2014, and if he’s not signed to an extension by the Broncos, it’ll be interesting to see what he can garner on the free agency market.
Undoubtedly one of the top cornerbacks in the league up until this point, Harris is also turning 30-years old next month, and teams – including the Broncos – may be hesitant to pay out the type of money that Harris is asking for due to that.
It seems as if this situation is fluid, and with training camp fast approaching, it'll be interesting to see how far Harris is willing to go in an effort to get a new deal.
