Ohio State's Jeff Okudah is widely considered the best cornerback prospect in this year's NFL Draft and will likely be the first one off the board as a result.

Some feel that the Detroit Lions will ultimately take Okudah with the third overall pick this April, and Okudah welcomes the idea of potentially joining fellow cornerback Darius Slay in the Motor City:

“Magical. I think it’d be really tough for that division,” Okudah said of the possibility of playing alongside of Slay, according to Chris Burke of The Athletic.

Okudah says that he has been “trying to emulate” Slay on the field ever since his high school days.

Slay has developed into one of the best corners in the NFL and has made three straight Pro Bowl appearances, most recently registering 46 tackles, a couple of interceptions, a fumble recovery and 13 passes defended in 2019.

The 29-year-old also earned a First-Team All-Pro selection back in 2017 after leading the league with eight picks.

Of course, there is also the chance that Okudah gets drafted by the Lions and doesn't even get the opportunity to play with Slay. Slay wants a new deal, and Detroit has discussed him in trade talks with other teams.

The Lions have expressed some recent optimism about potentially reaching a long-term agreement with Slay, but his status is definitely up in the air right now.

Okudah is coming off of a junior campaign in which he totaled 34 tackles, three interceptions, a forced fumble and nine passes defended.
