Detroit Lions head coach Matt Patricia has not exactly endeared himself to the media during his first year with the team.
Known for his interesting personality, Patricia also has a quirk that has been very annoying to the Detroit media this year, and that quirk is routinely showing up late to media availability sessions.
On Wednesday, Patricia's scheduled news conference was pushed back 30 minutes past its original start time and then ended up beginning 15 minutes later than that.
A reporter—seemingly bothered by Patricia's tardiness—then asked how important punctuality is for a head coach, and was greeted with a basically empty answer:

Apparently, Patricia doesn't just blow off the media, as a former Lions player said that the 44-year-old was also regularly late to team meetings throughout the year.
“I think we definitely, in the game of football you have to be able to adapt and I think that’s a great kind of important way to just be able to handle all the situations that come up, is just kind of be fluid in all them,” Patricia said.
Well, Patricia better get his act together soon, because I'm sure the Detroit front office does not appreciate him being late to team meetings, especially in his first year as head coach.
The fact that the Lions are just 5-10 this season probably doesn't help his case, either.
