Matthew Stafford's wife Kelly took to social media her heartfelt message to the Detroit Lions fans who came to SoFi Stadium to see the Los Angeles Rams quarterback play against his former team.

It was a Sunday afternoon to remember for Matthew Stafford as not only did the Rams won but because there were plenty of Lions supporters who came out to Inglewood to show their love for him.

Stafford’s wife Kelly can’t help but appreciate the touching gesture of Lions fans and said that if his husband had a social media, he will do exactly “the same.”

“There were tears, belly laughs, long hugs, chills..just about every emotion yesterday,” Kelly wrote on Instagram. “But there are no words that could properly express the amount of gratitude I have for people of detroit.”

“If Matthew had social media, he would say the same,” she added. “Just thank you for supporting Matthew the way you did while he was there and even now. Means far more than y’all could imagine.”

Stafford led the Rams to a 28-19 victory, throwing for 334 yards and three touchdowns against his former team.

Despite not having a social media account, the star quarterback still acknowledged the love from the Lions fans after the game.

“It was humbling, it was really nice to see,” Stafford said post-game via Rams Wire.

“Driving into this stadium today, I saw a few walking around and I thought to myself, ‘That was pretty cool’,” he confessed. “I really appreciate it. I’ve said it a bunch of times, and I truly mean it, I loved my time there. I love all the people there that treated me, my family, my wife, with a ton of respect and a ton of grace for a long time. So, it was cool to see that.”
