The Miami Dolphins followed through on the speculation that they would franchise tag Jarvis Landry before the March deadline. However, they subsequently made him available for trade in an effort to free up some cap space for the offseason.
Miami's decision to deal Landry now makes him the biggest wide receiver name on the market. Needless to say, a number of teams have already emerged as potential suitors, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport:
Article Continues BelowTitans, Panthers, Saints, and Bears are teams that could be interested in a trade for franchise player Jarvis Landry.
It should come as no surprise that Landry has garnered this much attention. The three-time Pro Bowler led the league in receptions for the 2017 NFL season with 112 catches. Although he fell just 13 yards short of his third consecutive 1,000-yard season, he registered a career-high nine touchdowns.
That said, each of the aforementioned teams makes plenty of sense as a possible landing spot for Landry. The Tennessee Titans, Carolina Panthers, and Chicago Bears are all desperate for some playmakers on the outside. Meanwhile, the New Orleans Saints are likely just looking for another player to complement wide receiver, Michael Thomas.
Given the lack of premier talent at wide receiver in free agency and the 2018 NFL Draft, Miami's asking price may be a bit higher than expected. That said, the Dolphins will have the benefit of hearing out all offers with so many teams competing for Landry's services. However, recent reports suggest that they could potentially get a deal done within the next week or so.
