The New York Giants had ESPN personality Louis Riddick interview for its general manager job. This news likely comes as a welcome surprise to Giants fans, as Riddick is one of the most beloved football personalities in all of the country.
There is more to it than that. While I would argue that Louis Riddick is the very best National Football League television personality, he does have a strong background within the world of football operations. Riddick worked as a scout and director of pro personnel for both the Washington Redskins and Philadelphia Eagles before moving on to a job at ESPN in 2013.
The team announced that it interviewed Riddick itself.
It was reported earlier this year that he was an option to be the general manager for the Kansas City Chiefs, but Riddick denies ever interviewing for that job. However, he admits to being close to joining the San Francisco 49ers, even going after Josh McDaniels in the process, though that gig ultimately went to John Lynch.

Furthermore, simply because he is great on television, does that mean he will make for a good general manager?
No one yet knows, but it would certainly be fun to find out.
