The Green Bay Packers aren't the first football team you'd think about when it comes to exciting football. After all, they have a first-year coach leading them on the sidelines. However, Aaron Rodgers believes the team has the potential to develop into a great offensive force in the league.

While it is true that he did skip all of the team's preseason games, he thinks that the team could be turned into something special if given the time. Some may think of his words as pessimistic, while others see it as cautiously positive.

“I think everybody needs to understand this is going to be the first iteration of our offense, and because it’s a new scheme and there are new pieces, this is going to grow from this point,” Rodgers said, via Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com. “I’m excited about the stuff we have in and the stuff we’ve been working on in camp. There’s going to be even more. I think that’s the exciting part. I like the foundational start for this offense. I think it could be tough to stop because of the stress it puts on defense with their eye control and pattern-reading and reading the alignments. But we have a lot of room to grow from what we put on the field on Thursday.”

Green Bay may be LaFleur's first head coaching gig, but he is not new to NFL play. He started his NFL career after a considerable amount of time with the college game in Houston as an offensive quality control coach. He then jumped from team to team, his latest stop prior to the Packers being the Tennessee Titans as their offensive coordinator.

It will be interesting to see how Rodgers and LaFleur interact this season. Will the long-time quarterback cooperate with his new coach? Or will he usurp control from within?
