Green Bay Packers star quarterback Aaron Rodgers did not show up to mandatory minicamp, but Davante Adams said Tuesday he will not follow in Rodgers' footsteps.

Adams, who is entering the final season of his contract, was asked whether he would head into camp without an extension. The All-Pro Packers wideout explained he has no intention of skipping out and risking the same financial penalties Rodgers has exposed himself to:

“Yeah I'll be here,” Adams said, via NFL Update. “I'm from East Palo Alto, California. I grew up with zero dollars. I'm not forfeiting any of my money that I earned.”

Adams and Rodgers have one of the best quarterback-receiver dynamics in the entire NFL, but A-Rod's decision to hold out will not influence Adams' availability.

Though Adams said he and his teammates hope Rodgers decides to join them, the star quarterback's absence has no impact on his “love” for fellow Packers quarterbacks Jordan Love and Blake Bortles. In fact, Adams praised Love for his attitude and performance early in the offseason.

The 28-year-old was not a participant in voluntary OTAs, though he hinted his absence had nothing to do with financial demands. Adams also clarified he had no say in some of the team's other receivers deciding to skip Packers OTAs, per ESPN's Rob Demovsky.

It remains to be seen if or when Rodgers will ever report to the Packers, or if he suits up for Green Bay at all in 2021. However, Adams will be grinding away as the centerpiece of the team's passing game. He should be gearing up for a massive season in his walk year.
