The Green Bay Packers took defensive lineman Kingsley Keke in the fifth round of the 2019 NFL Draft and Michael Renner of Pro Football Focus thinks with the production he will provide the team he will be a steal. Renner points out how he dominated his competition at the Senior Bowl and thinks he will fit right in with the Packers playing the three-technique.

“Keke played a tad out of position at Texas A&M, where he took 62.2% of his snaps lined up over or outside the tackle. At 288 pounds, he realistically translates best to three-technique or interior rusher at the next level. And in that role, he dominated at the Senior Bowl practices in Mobile. He had the highest win rate and highest grade among all defensive linemen in attendance in the one-on-ones.”

Keke was named a starter for the Aggies during the 2017 season and was productive, but in 2018 was when he really opened some eyes finishing with 51 tackles, with 11 of those being for a loss, and seven sacks which led the team.

The good news for the Packers is that he did play out of position at A&M which will give him position flexibility in the NFL, something that team scout Charles Walls thinks will be an added bonus for the green and yellow.

“I can see him bumping down as a three-tech or even sometimes in their scheme, he’ll play true nose (tackle) in their sub packages,” said Walls via 24/7 Sports. “I’m truly excited about this kid. He can play anywhere.”

He might not be on the field all the time as a rookie, but this is a guy to keep a close eye on for years to come.
