Josh McDaniels has been connected to the Green Bay Packers as a potential head coaching candidate since the team made the decision to fire Mike McCarthy. He has been thought of as a perfect fit to bring change to the Packers and to offer Aaron Rodgers a much more creative offense than he has had in a long time.

According to a report from Zachary Jacobsen of Cheesehead TV, sources within the Packers' organization have made it clear that McDaniels is the “clear-cut favorite” to be the team's next head coach.

McDaniels has been an NFL head coach before. Back in the 2009 and 2010 seasons, McDaniels was the head man for the Denver Broncos. Unfortunately, his first tenure as a head coach ended with an 11-17 record.

That being said, McDaniels would be getting a much better opportunity this time around. He has had years of coaching under Bill Belichick and learning the game. In addition to that fact, he would be heading to a Green Bay football team who has Rodgers and plenty of other talent.

The Packers are going to be an intriguing job possibility for quite a few head coaches. Green Bay will show interest in quite a few different coaching candidates.

At this point in time, the Packers have interviewed Jim Caldwell and Chuck Pagano for their head coaching job. Pat Fitzgerald has also come up as a name that Green Bay is very interested in interviewing.

Expect to see the Packers due their due diligence in this coaching search, but McDaniels appears to be the man for the job, assuming he wants it.
