Aaron Rodgers is not a fan of joint practices, so after the Green Bay Packers held joint sessions with the Houston Texans, Rodgers sounded off, saying he “wouldn't mind if they didn't do it for another 14 years” and deemed the kickoff drills “unsafe.”
Add another chapter to the already delicate relationship between Rodgers and new head coach Matt LaFleur.
LaFleur, who said he loved the joint practices, responded to Rodgers' comments after Thursday's preseason game against the Houston Texans, and while he didn't completely dismiss his quarterback's opinion, he also didn't entirely agree with it.

So, I get it from his perspective. But at the same time, there’s 10 other guys on the field with him on each play, and it was great for us, especially when you talk about our run game getting some different looks to go against. I always respect his opinion, just like I do all our players. But I still think it was beneficial for us.”
The Packers hired LaFleur at the beginning of the offseason, and things didn't take long to get off on an awkward foot after Rodgers bristled at LaFleur taking some responsibility away from him at the line of scrimmage.
Rodgers also apparently wasn't enthralled with Green Bay's decision to hire LaFleur, who has no NFL head coaching experience, to begin with.
Regardless, the Packers defeated the Texans by a score of 28-26 during their first preseason game and will kick off their regular season on Wednesday, Sept. 5 when they head on the road to take on the Chicago Bears.
